Our Story
Raising little ones takes a village, but finding that village isn’t always easy. In Montezuma County, opportunities for babies and toddlers to play and connect with other children can be limited, and the early years of parenthood, from pregnancy through postpartum and beyond, can sometimes feel isolating.
Gather & Grow was created to help fill that gap: a welcoming, inclusive community space where families can build connections, children can learn through play, and parents can find support at every stage of early parenthood.
Gather & Grow is a program of Onward! A Legacy Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
We also thank the LOR Foundation for their support.
Our Team
Rebecca
Originally from Phoenix, Rebecca now lives in Cortez with her husband and daughter. She has a degree in Economics and Geography and has always had a passion for volunteering and non-profit work. Becoming a mom has deepened her appreciation for the importance of connection and support, and she’s excited to make Montezuma County an even better place for families to grow.
Tess
Tess is an Ohio native who now lives in the Cortez area, where she is raising two young children (4 months and 4 years old). Holding a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a focus on community practice and social change, she is deeply passionate about fostering social connectedness, emotional regulation, and inclusive local spaces where people can connect and build resiliency together. Outside of her community work, you can find her reading and imagining with her children, hiking, gardening, working on a puzzle, or experimenting in the kitchen.
